iListen

iListen APP is specially designed for hearing-impaired persons. Because hearing impaired people is a partial or total inability to hear where the ability would usually be expected. Such as door bell, ambulance, fire engine, alarm bell...etc. Because they loss hearing sense, their Life is full of danger. Its major features are Communication, Transportation, Signal and Emergency.

First, hearing impaired person can communicate with people in real time through text-to-speech and speech recognition functions in iListen. Second, iListen can help hearing impaired people relax on their journey. They can finally stop worrying about that they miss their destinations. Third, iListen can receive many sounds from environment .It can recognize the sounds and notify users by vibrating and visual signals. And it can record new sounds to create a data base of sounds. Finally, i-Listen can help users to produce sounds to call for help in emergency and to inform families or policemen. With above functions, iListen can make lives of hearing-impaired persons a lot easier.

iListen是一款專門為聽障者設計的APP，透過智慧型手機搭載的方式，藉此幫助聽障者解決生活中的困難，以解決他們喪失聽力所產生的困難，我們透過焦點族群訪談的方式，清楚的描繪出聽障者的需求，進而解決並設計出這款APP。iListen有以下四點功能：訊號監聽、語音辨識、到站叫我與緊急求助四項。

「訊號監聽」是讓手機成為聽障者的耳朵，可以透過錄製聲音作為辨識的依據，分辨環境中產生的聲響，例如警鈴、電器提醒、車鳴聲等等。 

語音辨識是可以讓聽障者透過輸入文字撥放聲音的方式與常人交談，亦可收錄一般人的回應顯示為文字讓聽障者了解對方的回應，使兩方的溝通無礙。

到站叫我解決的是聽障者乘車時的壓力，透過訪談發現聽障者搭乘大眾運輸工具時，會因為害怕錯過站而在旅程中持續處於緊張壓力之下，所以此功能可以讓聽障者在搭車前設定好自己的目的地，當GPS的定位在接近目的地前，手機便會提醒聽障者。

緊急求助可以幫助聽障者獲得適時的幫助，透過製造警示聲、發送定位簡訊的方式告知其他人，也可以透過連續撥打電話的方式，提醒聯絡對象聽障者需要協助。
