島,為創作者的象徵,造字的創作過程,獨自築起心中理想的地貌。
島,也是台灣這塊土地和文化所積累的養分,提供創作者孕育出作品的豐富養分。以字體構成環境空間,視覺設計以「島」字為核心,從二維平面轉向成三維的空間概念,將字體立體化、具象化的方式。傳達字體構成環境空間,環境空間也是字體本身。設計延伸應用以不同的構成形式在這立體的框架中,展示多樣性和可塑性,其中透過插畫的延展出各種不同的質地的圖騰,猶如島嶼地質的剖面,傳達台灣島嶼上文化的多樣性。
We fostered our key visual design around the idea of an island. The Hanzi Character 島 was set with the typeface “Jinxuan”. However, it is not represented in a flat world view. It was transformed into a three dimensional object, a creative space which had been structured through a typeface. We use such thinking as a tool to elaborate the concept of an island, with an attempt to explore a myriad of its meaning. The illustrations in particular, exhibits a variety of textures and symbols. We aim to convey the richness of its soil and the diversity of the environment on such island.
