The "Connect & Adopt: Shaping Adoption Journeys" project, implemented in Yilan and Hualien Counties in Eastern Taiwan, introduces fifteen innovative solutions to enhance the adoption process. The focus is on process guidance, human-pet compatibility, consistent service delivery, and educating potential pet owners.

The project streamlines the adoption process using SOP posters and foldable guides, providing adopters with clear information at each stage.

To ensure better matches, adopters receive dog information cards, behavior tags, and observation guides, helping them understand dogs' traits and behaviors.

Standardized communication and evaluation processes are implemented. Adopters fill out self-assessment forms to confirm their readiness and ability to care for a pet. Shelter staff use evaluation standards and record cards to assess potential adopters and communicate details about the animals.

These design solutions empower adopters, improve human-pet compatibility, reduce service discrepancies, lower labor costs, increase service capacity and quality, and enhance adoption success rates.
