EyeBus 是一個由手機App、公車車載系統及優先上車等候區串連而成的視障者公車預約服務。

在臺灣，公車對民眾而言向來都是方便的交通選擇，然而對視障者而言卻並非如此。許多視障通勤族們無法在沒有幫助的情況下快速攔車與上車，以至於他們更願意呆在家裡，嚴重者甚至放棄外出工作或其他社交活動。

為解決此問題，EyeBus 充當視障乘客和巴士司機之間的中間人。當乘客通過 EyeBus App 發送請求時，它會連接到公車車載系統並通知公車司機，收到通知的公車司機會在該公車站的優先上車等候區停靠，提供更安全的服務，減少視障乘客的焦慮和風險。

EyeBus 具有四個設計特色。

1. 輕鬆預約：EyeBus App使乘客可以根據自己的需要輕鬆預訂公車，該App允許使用者規劃路線、搜索公車和公車站牌，並將常用站牌或公車添加到他們的最愛。

2. 提示通知：EyeBus App 發出持續的提示音和震動提示，讓視障者輕鬆掌握公車位置。

3. 使用方便：EyeBus App 色彩對比度高，符合 Web 內容無障礙指南的 AAA 標準，且同時方便色盲識別，並允許通過螢幕報讀程式提供直觀的導引。

4. 整體體驗：EyeBus App 與公車車載系統、優先上車等候區營造完整的服務體驗，形成順暢、成功的客戶旅程。

EyeBus獲得了視障者和臺灣相關政府部門的高度評價，作為一項實惠、可靠的服務，已在臺北南京幹線測試達30場次，成功率超過九成，預計推出後將協助更多視障用戶獨立出行。
 

EyeBus is a multi-channel, cross-scenario bus booking service for the visually impaired, comprising the App, the telematics system, and the priority boarding point. 

The bus is by far the most convenient and economical transportation for citizens in Taiwan. However, this may not be the case for the visually impaired. Unable to hail a bus or board the bus quickly and without assistance, they find this mode of transportation quite challenging to the point where they prefer to stay home and forgo going out for work or other social activities.

EyeBus service acts as a middleman between the visually impaired passenger and the bus driver. Upon the request is sent by a passenger via EyeBus App, it connects to the bus’s telematics system and notifies the bus driver. The informed bus driver then pulls over at the priority boarding point in the designated bus stop, providing a safer service reducing the level of anxiety and risk for visually impaired passengers.

There are four main features of EyeBus.

1. Easy booking: EyeBus App enables passengers to effortlessly reserve a bus according to their needs. The application allows users to plan routes, search for buses and bus stops, and add frequently used stops or buses to their favourites.

2. Prompt notifications: EyeBus App emits constant audio and tactual cues, allowing visually impaired users to easily track the bus location. 

3. Easy usage: EyeBus App meets the AAA criterion of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines with the high colour contrast of its content. It is colour-blind friendly and provides intuitive navigation with a screen reader. The VoiceOver is comprehensible and in line with a visually impaired person’s method of operation.

4. Holistic experience: EyeBus App collaborates with bus telematics systems and priority boarding points to form a smooth and successful customer journey. 

EyeBus has received high marks from both the visually impaired users and relevant Taiwan government departments. As an affordable, reliable and highly valued service, EyeBus has entered trial operation in Taiwan’s capital, Taipei, and is expected to assist more visually impaired users to travel independently after the launch.
